This frame has some stories to tell! It was made in 1870, verified with maker's patent stamp on the back. It is in excellent vintage condition with minor dings. Woven with colors appropriate to women's dresses of the time, it really is a stand out piece. Wool roving, mulberry silk, and recycled sari silk with pops of gold are woven together to create this bold design. When I look at this weaving I'm reminded of hard working women, bold women, brave women, inspiring women. The ones who helped pave the way before our generation.
